Chantelle started singing at the age of 13 in a School Band and over the last twelve years she has performed at many different events throughout South Australia. She started classical singing lessons at the age of 14 and from then on there was no looking back! At 15, she began learning the keyboard and became more and more involved with music during her senior years at School. She studied Music Theory and Solo Vocal Performance as part of her year 12 assessment, while also continuing with classical singing lessons. She played lead roles in 2 of the school’s musicals – Mother Abbess in “The Sound of Music” and Motel in “Fidler On The Roof”. Chantelle was also a member of the chapel band, stage band and School Orchestra.
When Chantelle left high school, she started pop singing lessons and entered various Karaoke competitions. Chantelle sings a variety of styles including ballads, pop, jazz, country and classical. Over the past few years she has performed at many weddings and special functions.
Some of Chantelle’s singing achievements to date are as follows:
- Finalist in Australian Karaoke Championships – Roulettes Tavern
- Performed in both Mildura & Pt Pirie Country Music Festivals
- First place in Karaoke competition at Glynde Hotel
- Broadcast on ABC Regional Radio
- Recording of 3 CD’s
- Singing at various functions at Willunga Golf Club Restaurant
- Singing at The Hundred Eaves Restaurant, Sellicks Beach
Her most significant achievement was being selected as a supporting artist for Daryl Braithwaite and Dwyte Adams in the Sea & Vines Festival 2006, McLaren Vale. This was a great experience for her and she learnt a lot about being a successful performer.
